William R. "Bill" Cassels , 88, of 1093 S. Michael Road, St. Marys, died on Sunday, December 8, 2013 in Benezette Township.
He was born March 5, 1925 in Byrnedale, a son of the late William R. and Mary Ferris Cassels.
On May 1, 1948 in St. Benedict Church in Daguscahonda, he married Freda Prechtl Cassels, who survives.
Bill was a lifelong resident of the area and attended First United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 during WWII, having served during the Invasion of Normandy. He retired from Pure Carbon Company after more than 40 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, camping and i
