Vivian M. Gabor
, 90, of 1177 Brusselles Street, St. Marys, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Pinecrest Manor following a brief illness.
She was born on October 11, 1924, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late George and Bertha Hanes Schatz.
On August 24, 1946 in St. Marys, she married Joseph W. Gabor, who preceded her in death on November 11, 2007.
Mrs. Gabor was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Sacred Heart Church, where she was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society and St. Ann's. She retired from Elco Sintered Alloys in Kersey after more than 20 years of service. She enjoyed bingo and playing cards and was the last member of her immediate family.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph (Sandi) Gabor and Ronald (Martha) Gabor, both of St. Marys. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Bruce (Patty) Gabor, James (Marissa) Gabor, Jill (Joe) Gnan, and Lisa (Dan) Vogt and by 6 great grandchildren, Billy, Kari, Evan, Jenna, Kaden and Steven.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Francis Schatz, Regis Schatz, Charles Schatz, Alvin Schatz and Floyd Schatz in infancy and by 3 sisters, Coletta Chiesa, Mary Boschert and by Dolores Schatz in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Vivian M. Gabor will be celebrated on Friday, October 9, 2015, at 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center Street, St. Marys with Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Community Nurses.
