Thomas V. Smith

Thomas V. Smith, 72, of Weedville, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.

He was born on January 5, 1953 in DuBois, PA, a son of the late Charles and Evelyn Anderson Smith.

On April 11, 1975, at Queen of the World Church, he married Dellene Bauer Smith, who survives. Together they were blessed to share more than 50 years of marriage.

Tom was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church in Force and retired from Metaldyne after many years of service. He was a Cub Scout Master and dedicated a lot of time to helping local youth. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. One of his favorite pastimes was camping in Canada with family and friends, a trip he enjoyed greatly. Always the handy man, Tom was proud to have built his house from the ground up. When he wasn't tending to his garden, he enjoyed sitting outside with his beloved dogs.

In addition to his wife, Dellene, of 50 years, he is survived by two sons; Thomas (Hilary Peterson) Smith, and Brian (Caroline) Smith, both of St. Marys; and by his 2 beloved grandchildren; Owen and Olivia Smith. He is also survived by two siblings; Ralph (Jean) Smith of Weedville and Mona (Russell) Fye of Hastings, FL, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas V. Smith will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 17764 Bennetts Valley Highway, Force, PA 15841 with Fr. Mark Mastrian, Pastor, as celebrant.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at St. Joseph Church from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass.

Burial will follow in Gardner Hill Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Humane Society.
