She was born on February 2, 1934 in St. Marys, PA, a daughter of the late Louis and Marie Blessel Slack.

She married Jerome F. Hoffman, who preceded her in death in 1975. She then married Leo Sutka, and he preceded her in death in 2008.

Sylvia was a member of Queen of the World Church and was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1952.

She is survived by three children; Steven Hoffman and his wife Nancy of St.
Marys, Ronald Hoffman of Huntersville, NC, and Ellen VanDervort of Spartanburg, SC; and by her six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
