Steven L. "Moose" Pesce, 65, of Dagus Mines, PA passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois following a lengthy illness.
He was born on July 6, 1959 in St. Marys, PA, a son of the late Louis Pesce and Joan Mintzer Pesce, who survives.
On May 11, 1991, in Kersey, PA, he married Heather Simbeck Pesce, who survives. Together they have shared more than 34 years of marriage.
Steve was a graduate of Cameron County High School, class of 1977. After high school, he dedicated his life to the family business, Pesce Metal Fabricating, where he was a well educated and talented fabricator. Moose loved the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, and spending time at camp. He also enjoyed socializing with others, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his larger than life personality, and will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to his his mother Joan, and his wife Heather, he is survived by four children; Chris Pesce of Ridgway, Leanne (Adam) Smith of Kersey, Tim Pesce of Kersey, and Justine (Chris) Leslie of St. Marys, by an honorary daughter; Cody (Chet) Ball, by his 4 beloved grandchildren; Ashley, Michael, Indi, and Jordan, and by 5 honorary grandchildren; Angel, Rory, Phennix, Maya, and Avery. He is also survived by two brothers; David (Leah) Pesce and Louis (Melanie) Pesce, both of St. Marys, by two sisters; Lori (Mark) Zito of Georgia and Michelle (Tom) Friedl of Kersey, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He is also survived by his mother-in-law; Nancy Haberberger of St. Marys and a childhood friend; Ronald "Bon" Barker of Bradford.
In addition to his father, Louis Pesce, Steve was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, two aunts; Carol "Honey" Anders and Monica "Cookie" Pesce, and by two uncles; John "PeeWee" Pesce and Robert "Bob" Pesce.
Funeral Services for Steven L. "Moose" Pesce will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home with Fr. Ignatious Camello, OSB officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fox Township Elementary School.
