Stephen J. Dinsmore, 62, of St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born on October 18, 1963 in St. Marys, PA, a son of Darrell and Karen Bevacqua Dinsmore, who survive of St. Marys.
A 1983 graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Steve was a familiar and friendly face at Walmart, where he worked for more than 11 years. A true sports fan through and through, he could happily talk about just about any game, team, or score, but his loyalties ran especially deep for the LA Raiders and Penn State. Whether he was watching a big game, keeping up with his favorite teams, or enjoying a few frames at the bowling alley, he loved the fun and friendly competition that came along with sports. He was also a longtime fan of Hall & Oates and always appreciated good music. As much as he enjoyed sports, however, nothing meant more to him than his family. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews and genuinely treasured the time he spent with them. His easygoing spirit, familiar smile, and love for the people and things that brought him joy will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by three siblings; Carrie (Ray) Benjamin of St. Marys, Dean (Karen) Dinsmore of Ridgway, and Lisa (Tom) Kline of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
