Shirley Hillebrand

Shirley F. Hillebrand, 90, of St. Marys, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 11, 2025.

She was born on July 20, 1934 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Herbert and Alice Probst Fledderman.

On May 21, 1966, at St. Marys Church, she married the love of her life, Otto A. Hillebrand, who preceded her in death on August 1, 2010. Together they were blessed with more than 44 years of marriage.

Shirley was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1952 and was a member of St. Marys Church. Shirley's dream in life was to be wife and mother, a role she embraced with love and kindness. With a true servant's heart, Shirley enjoyed volunteering for various organizations over the years.

She is survived by five children; Peter (Kimmy) Hillebrand of Cranberry Township, Kerry Hillebrand of St. Marys, Kristin Hillebrand of Doylestown, Kathy (Mark) Burd of Washington, PA, and Emily (James) Walsh of Doylestown; by her eleven beloved grandchildren; Scott, Maggie, Ethan, Teagan, Elliott, Ashley, Chloe, Elizabeth, Charlie, Griffin, and Claire, and by two great-granddaughters. She was also looking forward to the birth of a third great-granddaughter. Further surviving are eight siblings; Michael (Martha) Fledderman of St. Marys, Candy (Greg) Williams of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Andy Fledderman of St. Marys, Ann Fledderman of Medina, OH, Barbara (Mike) Sweeney of St. Marys, Peter (Joyce) Fledderman of St. Marys, Richard (Patty) Fledderman of Kersey and Tina Haney of Medina, OH, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew: David (Rhonda) Hillebrand of Havre de Grace, MD.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-mother; Burneda Fledderman, a brother; Paul Fledderman and by a step-brother; Gary Morehead.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley F. Hillebrand will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at St. Marys Church, 315 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Ignatius Camello, OSB, as celebrant.

Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Christian Food Bank, the Elk County Humane Society, or to the Elk County Catholic School System.
