Richard Jude Parrish, 71, of 174 Provin Road, Hazen, Pennsylvania, formerly of Ridgway, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Rich was born February 12, 1955, to parents James and Mary Anne (Brasuell) Parrish.
Rich was raised in Johnsonburg, PA where he enjoyed riding dirt bikes with friends and delivering newspapers with his siblings. He graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1973. He was known by many as the local mailman and retired from the US Postal Service after 35 years of dedication in 2010. Rich could be heard every Saturday evening playing his guitar at Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg where he was part of the folk group for over 50 years. He spent much of his life in service to others and the community through Rough Riders, Boyscouts, YMCA, Borough Council, The Skate Park, coaching baseball and softball and taking care of numerous neighbors. He had a gift for making people laugh and feel welcome. Rich enjoyed wood working, playing card games, riding his dirt bike, and spending time with his family at camp.
Rich recently celebrated 46 years of marriage with his wife and love of his life Yvonne (Wolfel) Parrish whom he affectionately called "Babe." Together they have three children, Julie (Kevin) Stacey of North Carolina, Jill (Wesley) Croker of Pittsburgh, and Steven (Brandy) Parrish of Jeannette. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Morgan and Camryn (Stacey), Owen and Evan (Croker), as well as five siblings; Kathleen (Curt) Johnson of Pittsburgh, David Parrish of East Springfield, Mary Helen (Dave) Imbrogno of Johnsonburg, Charlie (Jodie) Parrish of Florida, and Adrienne (Clint) Logue of Butler, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs, Reggie and Coco.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Karen Parrish.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard J. Parrish will be celebrated on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Church, 210 Bridge Street, Johnsonburg, PA 15845, with Fr. David Wilson officiating.
Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Family and Friends will be received on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA 15853, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to Holy Rosary Memorial Fund, 210 Bridge Street, Johnsonburg, PA 15845, or Elk Cameron Cursillo, 325 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857.
