Paul Plyler

Paul Plyler, 67, of Ridgway, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Penn Highlands Elk.

He was born on September 14, 1957, in Ridgway, PA, a son of the late Sam Plyler Sr. and Sarah Dush Plyler Wonderling.

On June 5, 1982, at St. Leo's Church, he married Barb Bowers Plyler, who survives. Together they shared more than 43 years of marriage.

Paul was a graduate of Ridgway High School, class of 1976. He then went on to Truckers school in Brookville, PA. Paul worked for Motion Control for 30 years. He was also a retired fireman, fire police, and assistant leader for Scouts Troop 93. In his free time, Paul loved to spend time in the outdoors. You could often find him hunting, fishing, going for rides to see wildlife, or just sitting out by the campfire. Paul liked the Philadelphia Eagles and was a big WWE Wrestling fan. He will always be remembered for being a great husband, dad, and grandpa.

In addition to his spouse Barb , he is survived by 2 children; Mike Plyler and Hannah Tennant (Billy); and by his grandson; Jordan Plyler. He is also survived by his brother; Sam (Carol) Plyler Jr., his sister; Elizabeth "Libby" (Michael) McKinny, step sister; Peggy (Buck) Oliver of Maryland, brother in law; Bill (Kathy) Bowers, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Gerald Wonderling, a son in law, Mark Tennant, his in-laws, Jerome and Dorothy Bowers.

A Memorial Service for Paul Plyler will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Krise Funeral Home in Ridgway, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA 15853 with Ron Burkett as celebrant.

Family and friends will be received at the Krise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Ridgway on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Memorial contribution may be made to Ridgway Fire Department.
