Patricia P. Santaniello, 91, formerly of Ridgway, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Gurwin Nursing Home in New York following a brief illness.
She was born on November 28, 1934, in Rasselas, a daughter of the late Stephen and Agatha Sosmiski Preshak.
On April 27, 1957, she married the late Anthony Santaniello, who preceded her is death on September 19, 1957.
A proud graduate of St. Vincent College, she earned her bachelor's degree in nursing. A dedicated nurse, she spent many years serving the community at Elk Co. General Hospital, where her compassionate care made a lasting impact on the lives she touched.
A dedicated Catholic, Patricia was an active member of her faith community, finding strength and solace in her beliefs. She was cherished not only for her profession but also for her warm heart and nurturing spirit. Her kindness and generosity of spirit will be remembered by all who knew her, and her legacy of love and compassion will continue through her family. Patricia was known for her remarkable knitting skills, gifting each loved one a unique piece she crafted with care and affection.
She is survived by 4 children: David Santaniello and his wife Virgina of Ridgway, Mary Vacirca and her husband Carmine of Long Island, NY, Mark Sananiello and his wife Beth of Brockway, and Kathy Redovan and her husband Ed of Hermitage, 8 grandchildren: Maria, Gina, Jewel, Adam, Amanda, Michael, Matthew, and Alyssa, and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Carolyn Kilhoffer of Rasselas, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Marie Williams, and a brother, James Preshak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Leo Magnus Church, 111 Depot Street, Ridgway, PA, 15853, with Fr. Justin Pino officiating.
Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday at St. Leo Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
