Michael S. Johnston

Michael S. Johnston, 71, of Kersey, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

He was born on December 4, 1954 in New Castle, PA, a son of the late Norman Johnston, Sr. and Margaret Baker Johnston.

On November 12, 1993, he married Diane Ruth Johnston, who survives of Kersey. Together they shared more than 32 years of marriage.

Having worked in the contraction field for his entire life, Mike formerly owned and operated Johnston Builders. Later in life, he worked for Micale Construction and has been employed the last few years with Alison and Associates as a Project Manager. Years ago, he proudly served as the Fire Chief for Shenango Township in Lawrence County. Mike loved the outdoors and looked forward to camping trips with his wife and family. He also enjoyed hunting and could often be found cheering on the Steelers.

In addition to his wife, Diane, he is survived by 3 children; Eric (Anita) Johnston of State College, Justin (Elaina) Himes of Kersey, and Julie (Bob) Bush of Falls Creek; and by thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers; Larry (Sally) Johnston of New Castle, and Tim (Billie) Johnston of Wampum, as well as by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his daughter; Kim Wolfe, his great-granddaughter; Madalena Mann, and by a brother; Randy Johnston.

A Memorial Service for Michael S. Johnston will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Krise Funeral Home, 339 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846.

Family and friends will be received at Krise Funeral Home - Kersey on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
