Mary L. Wiesner, 86, of Mark Street, St. Marys, PA passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Penn Highlands Elk, surrounded by the love of her family following a brief illness.
She was born on October 29, 1939 in Hollywood, PA, daughter of the late Jake and Rose Schepp Kostecki.
On October 6, 1962, at St. Stanislaus Church in Tyler, PA, Mary married the late Guy G. Wiesner, who preceded her in death on October 10, 2017 after 55 years of marriage.
She was an employee of Osram Sylvania, retiring after 25 years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century club. She was also a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bingo, and going to Salamanca. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, reading, cooking, and baking.
She is survived by two children; Michael Wiesner, of St. Marys, PA, and Deborah Katelan and her husband James of Jensen Beach, FL; and by her four beloved grandchildren; Michaela Wiesner and Nathan Wiesner, both of St. Marys, and Ryan Katelan of Erie, PA and Taylor Hirschland and her husband Jon of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by one sister; Marcella Distler and her husband, William of Scottsdale, Arizona, and by a special niece; Charlene Malfer.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Veronica Waddington, Agnes Malfer, and Dorothy Duncan, and by three brothers; Joseph Kostecki, Francis Kostecki, and Raymond Kostecki.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary L. Wiesner will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, 315 Church Street, St. Marys, PA, 15857 with Fr. Thomas Curry, OSB, as celebrant.
Family and friends will be received at the St. Marys Church on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 11:15 AM until the time of the Mass.
Interment will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
