Mary Ann Wensel

Mary Ann G. Wensel , 94, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Sharon, PA and E. Kaul Avenue, St. Marys, died on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.

She was born on April 2, 1921, a daughter of the late Ernest and Rosella Ruehl Ginther.

On September 10, 1938 in Ridgway, she married Edward Carl Wensel, who preceded her in death on August 28, 1978.

Mrs. Wensel was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church in St. Marys and had been a member of Oakland Avenue Methodist Church in Sharon. PA when she lived there.  Over the years, she worked at Sharon General Hospital, Farrell Hospital and at Carl's Candies in Sharon.  She was an avid reader and will be remembered for her extensive rooster collection.  She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially the annual 4th of July family reunion.  She was the last member of her immediate family.

She is survived by 3 sons, James (Mary Ann) Wensel of St. Marys, Daniel (Marilyn) Wensel of Sharon, PA and Paul (Dolores) Wensel of Dexter, MI, as well as by 10 Grandchildren, 5 Step-Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Lee Wensel on January 5, 2011, a daughter, Linda Forrester on December 28, 2014, 4 brothers, Henry Ginther, John Ginther, Robert Ginther and Gus Ginther in early childhood and by 2 sisters, Selma Ginther and Marguerite Munsell.

Funeral Services for Mary Ann G. Wensel will be held on Thursday, August 06, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Shiloh Presbyterian Church with Rev. Scott Weist, officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Hermitage, PA

Memorial Contributions may be made to Shiloh Presbyterian Church, St. Marys Public Library or to the Elk Haven Nursing Home Activity Fund.
