Mary L. Bennett

Mary L. Bennett , 80, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 139 Wendel Road, St. Marys, died on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the nursing home following a lengthy illness.

She was born on February 23, 1934, a daughter of the late Irvin and Madeline Minnick Wonderly.

On June 14, 1953, she married Clayton Bennett, Sr. who preceded her in death on March 5, 1999.

Mary was a lifelong resident of the area and retired from Pure Carbon Company after more than 30 years of service.  She enjoyed playing cards and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by 3 children:

In addtion to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Margaret Woodring, Betty M. Wonderly and Evelyn Claypool.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Wonderly.

A Funeral Service for Mary L. Bennett will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., officiating.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
