Loretta A. Herzing

Loretta A. Herzing, 86, of Terrace Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Pinecrest Manor following a brief illness.

She was born on May 26, 1939 in Ridgway, a daughter of the late Hilding and June Erlanson Anderson.
On May 16, 1959, at Queen of the World Church, she married the late John G. Herzing, who preceded her in death on December 26, 2010. Together they were blessed with more than 51 years of marriage.

Loretta was a graduate of St. Marys High School, class of 1957 and was a member of St. Marys Church. She enjoyed shopping trips with her sisters and loved to travel to Erie to visit and go shopping with her daughter. When she wasn't tending to her home, she enjoyed spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by one daughter; Davida Rhine, of Erie, PA and by three sisters; Karen (George) Nero of St. Marys, Junette Weisner of St. Marys, and Lyn (Leo) Shrubb of Missouri. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew; Johnny Leuschel of California.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Loretta was preceded in death by three sisters; Janet Viglione, Bonnie Lynd, and Shirley Fabino.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Loretta A. Herzing will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM at St. Marys Church, 315 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857.

Family and friends will be received at the St. Marys Church on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the time of the Mass.

Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
