Lea Ehrensberger

March 3, 1940 — November 15, 2025

Lea A. Ehrensberger, 85, of Bucktail Road, St. Marys, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025 with her loving family by her side following a lengthy illness.

She was born on March 3, 1940 in St. Marys, PA, a daughter of the late Bernard and Edna Leithner Salter. 

On October 1, 1960, she married the late David W. Ehrensberger, who preceded her in death on December 20, 2020. Together they were blessed with more than 60 years of marriage.

Lea was a faithful member of Queen of the World Church. She attended St. Marys Parochial Schools and was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1958. Throughout the years, Lea loved cooking for her family and could often be found canning many things, including sauerkraut, salsa and jelly.  Together with her husband, Lea also loved playing cards with her dear friends Wes and Martha Herbstritt and Meti and Diane Funaki. Most of all, she adored her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons; Dean Ehrensberger, Scott Ehrensberger, and Shawn (Christina) Ehrensberger, all of St. Marys; three daughters; Amy (Boone) Ginther, Anne (Todd) Breindel, and Renee (Adam) Neubert, all of St. Marys; and by eleven grandchildren, Amber Ginther, Jessica Ginther (Brian), Alex, Charlie, Gracee, and Jack Breindel, Taylor Ehrensberger (Josh), Faith Ehrensberger (Vinnie), and Devin Ehrensberger (Olivia); and James and Josie Neubert. She is also survived by five siblings; John (Jill) Salter, Sally (Dave) Micale, Bernice "Pat" Pfeufer, Joan Shively, and Bob Salter, all of St. Marys, as well as by numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Lea was preceded in death by her sister; Mary Jo "Cookie" Ginther and her four children who passed away following a dam break in Toccia Falls, GA.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Lea A. Ehrensberger will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, as celebrant.

Family and friends will be received at the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Three Breastketeers.
