JoAnn Erich

With deep sorrow we announce the passing of JoAnn Erich, a woman of deep faith and tremendous energy. She lit up any room with her beautiful blue eyes and engaging smile.

JoAnn was born in St. Marys, PA to William and Marie (Schlimm) Erich. She passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026 after a courageous five-year battle with cancer.

She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School Class of 1960. In 1988 she graduated cum laude from Notre Dame College in Cleveland. She retired from the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute in June 2008, having worked as executive assistant to Hillel Lewis, MD, Chairman.

JoAnn loved to travel and had many adventures throughout the United States, Europe, and the Holy Land.

She is survived by her loving companion of over 40 years, James Luther of Cleveland, and sisters Kathleen Wood of Port Richey, FL and Chris (Chuck) Meier of DuBois, PA, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Wayne Erich and William (Sarah) Erich. 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Marys Catholic Church, 315 Church Street, St. Marys, PA.

Family and friends will be received at the St. Marys Church on Friday, November 6, 2026 from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass.

Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
