Gervase J. Ginther

Gervase J. "Angel" Ginther , 89, of 301 Ford Road, St. Marys, died on Friday, September 15, 2017 at his home.

He was born on June 10, 1928, in St. Marys, a son of the late Anthony and Julia Wolfe Ginther.

On November 28, 1953, he married Rose Marie Paropacic, who preceded him in death on March 16, 2012.

Gervie was a member of Queen of the World Church.  He was a self employed farmer and meat cutter.  He also was a member of the PFL, the Eagles, and the Polka Boosters.  He enjoyed his family and his many grandchildren.


He is survived by seven daughters, Helen (Mark) Marzella of Ridgway, Joan Schutz, Linda (Daniel) Kopp, Lisa (Dan) Detsch, Susan (Robert) Ritter, Darlene "Hine" (David) Boschert and Diane "Missy" (Mark) Wolfel, all of St. Marys, by four sons, Joseph (Allison "Sunny") Ginther, David "Tarz" (Nancy) Ginther, Louis (Rhonda) Ginther, and George (Carol Sarnoski) Ginther, all of St. Marys,  He is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, as well as by two brothers, Jordan Ginther of Toby, and Oliver (Jane) Ginther of Wisconsin.

In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Ginther, a granddaughter, Tara Ritter, three brothers, Earl, Leander, and Alvin Ginther, and by two sisters, Vera Flynn and Anita Krellner.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Gervase J. Ginther will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 12:00 PM at Queen of the World Church with Rev Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation.
