Gerald L. Cassels

Mar 18, 1937 — Oct 14, 2026

Gerald L. Cassels, 89, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, with his wife by his side.

He was born on March 18, 1937 in Weedville, PA, a son of the late William and Mildred Wheeler Cassels.

On November 2, 2001, he married Darlene Brennan Cassels, who survives. Together they enjoyed many years of love and laughter.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army and went on to spend many years working at Stackpole Carbon Company before his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, the Elks, and the Moose, where he enjoyed the company of friends.   He was also a proud member of the 40 & 8, a society of veterans that he enjoyed volunteering for and taking part in. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of life-a day spent fishing or hunting, a night of bowling, or gathering around the table for a good game of cards. He loved country music and leisurely rides to see the elk, but the cruises he shared with his wife held a special place in his heart, giving them time to enjoy each other and make memories together. And for all the things he enjoyed, few could rival his determination to find the hottest wings possible-a little piece of his personality that will always bring a smile to those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, Darlene, he is survived by one daughter; Jackie Chillelli and her husband Sam of St. Marys; by his three beloved grandchildren; Ian, Levi, and Hunter, and by one great-grandson; Ross.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother; Ronald "Ted" Cassels, and by his sister; Beverly Gribbin.
