Eugene L. Leviski

Jun 19, 1931 — Jul 22, 2026

Eugene L. "Gene" Leviski, 95, of St. Marys passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Penn Highlands Elk, following a brief illness.

He was born on June 19, 1931 in Force, PA, a son of the late Sigmund and Theresa Floravit Leviski.

On August 28, 1954, he married Joyce A. Seelye Leviski, who preceded him in death on June 12, 2025. Together they were blessed with nearly 70 years of marriage.

A proud patriot and dedicated public servant, Gene honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War before returning home to continue a lifetime of service to his community. For more than 40 years, he faithfully served as a part-time police officer with the Benzinger Township Police Department and then the City of St. Marys Police Department, earning the respect of those who served alongside him. He was also a proud member of the American Legion and retired from Stackpole following many years of dedicated service. A hardworking man with an unmatched work ethic, he was a true jack-of-all-trades who could fix just about anything. Whether tending his farm, working in his garden, or helping someone in need, he was happiest with a project to tackle and a job well done. In his later years, he found simple pleasures in scratching lottery tickets, enjoying a good cigar, and spending time with those he loved. His life was one of quiet dedication, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to both his country and his community.

He is survived by four children; Rick (Debbie) Leviski of St. Marys, Shawn (Mary Jo) Leviski of Riverview, FL, Jody (Dave) Meyer of St. Marys, and Sharon (Mark) Pishak of State College, and by his four beloved grandchildren; Andy Leviski, Erica Hale, Bradley Leviski, and Alex Fields, and by 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister; Ilene Burgeson and by a sister-in-law; Phyllis Bricen of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
