Edith T. Fedus

March 3, 1933 — June 22, 2025

Ridgway

Edith T. Fedus, 92, a resident of Pinecrest Manor, and formerly of Laurel Mill Road, Ridgway, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025.

She was born on March 3, 1933, in Ridgway, a daughter of the late John and Mary Bosnik Strauss.

On September 29, 1956, she married the late John Fedus, who preceded her in death on January 8, 2012. Together they shared more than 55 years of love and marriage.

Edith was born and raised in Ridgway and was a graduate of St. Leo High School, class of 1951. Edith was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Leo Magnus Church. After graduating from high school, Edith went to work at the Elliot Company in Ridgway, and later became a nurse's aide at the Ridgway Hospital. She held several different jobs at the hospital, but her passion was working in the nursery. Later, she worked as an activity therapist at the hospital before retiring in 1997. In her free time, Edith enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates and Penguins, building puzzles, and watching the cardinals out her window. She also enjoyed tending to her yard. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandsons.

Edith is survived by three children; Gary (Nancy) Fedus, of Goose Creek, S.C., Kevin (Amy) Fedus, of St. Marys, and Karen (Mike) Tettis of Ridgway, and by her seven beloved grandchildren; Andrew (Kristyn) Fedus, Eric (Liza) Fedus, Jacob (Jordan) Leithner, LeeAnn (Ryan) Fenton, Tony (Emma) Leithner, Samantha Fedus, and Alex Fedus. She is also survived by three great grandsons; Henry, Joshua, and Leo Leithner, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.  Edith was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Edith was preceded in death by a son; Stephen Fedus, who preceded her in death on January 30, 2006, by six brothers; John, Frank, Louis, Carl, Albin, and Francis Strauss in infancy, and by seven sisters, Mary Poklar, Antoinette Clopp, Anna Parana, Grace Yonosko, Dorothy Moline, Alice Thompson, and Martha Laughner.
