Earl Francis Patterson

E. Francis Patterson, 84, of Ridgway, died on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Penn Highlands Dubois following a brief illness.

He was born on July 27, 1942, in Margaret, PA, a son of the late Robert and Agnes Hill Patterson.

On July 2, 1966, in Ridgway, he married Patricia DeGroat, who survives.

Fran was a lifelong resident of the area and retired from Clarion Sintered Metals after many years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially camping and fishing, and had a passion for shooting skeet and wood carving. Fran was happiest when surrounded by those he loved and always looked forward to the time spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Fran Patterson (Serena Schatz) of Ridgway, a daughter, Lori (Rob) Dowie of Kersey, 7 grandchildren: Marissa (Ray), Christina, Christopher, Myah, Cheyanne, Dakota, and Jasper, and 3 great grandchildren: Delilah, Ashum, Avyanna. He is also survived by a brother, Ken (Jerry) Patterson of Ridgway, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Robert, Harold, Charles Patterson, and 3 sisters; Doris Bowser, Margaret Shirley, and June Delhunty.

A Memorial Service for Francis Patterson will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA, 15853, with Rev. Charles Patterson officiating.

Burial will be at Oakmont Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received on Friday at Krise Funeral Home from 10:00 AM till the time of service.
