Diane V. McMillen, 82, of St. Marys, fell asleep in death on Monday, April 14, 2026, at Penn Highlands Dubois following a brief illness.
She was born on April 18, 1943, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Gilbert G. and Laura J. Dippold Vollmer.
On November 23, 1963, she married Edward E. McMillen, who survives.
It is hard to put into words what Diane meant to each of us, but if there's one thing we all know. It's that she lived her life with deep love, unwavering faith and quiet strength.
Diane was a loyal and loving wife of her dear husband "Mr Ed" for over 63 years - a partnership built on mutual respect and enduring love. Together they lovingly and selflessly raised three children, Bill of St. Marys, Bob (Karen) of St Marys and Dawnette (AJ Faudie) of Reynoldsville, all of whom survive. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and multiple great grandchildren. She is also survived by seven cherished sisters: Gloria Billie-Dugan of Altoona, Linda Lecker of St. Marys, Sharon (Rich) Foringer of Canandaigua, NY, Ellie Vollmer (Mark Meyer) of Perham, MN, Marsha (Tom) Neizmik of Weedville, Ann Vollmer of St. Marys, and Amy (Briant) Ott-Hanes of St. Marys, by several nieces and nephews, and by many beloved spiritual brothers and sisters.
Diane was a devoted Jehovah's Witness, and her faith guided every step of her life. She faced challenges that would have broken many, but she never let those trials define her. Instead, she met every obstacle - even the final one, death - with courage, grace and above all trust in Jehovah. No matter what hardships she endured, she never let go of Jehovah's hand. One of her favorite things to do was go door to door sharing her love of God. When she was no longer able to physically do that, she shared via mail.
As we remember Diane, let us also remember the lesson she leaves behind: to stay faithful, and to love deeply. May we honor her memory by living our lives with the same courage, faith and selfless love that defined hers.
We love you Diane, Mom, Sister, Gramma Honey, Mrs Ed...we look forward to the day Jehovah calls your name, and you awaken never to face suffering again.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Vollmer.
A Celebration of Life for Diane V. McMillen will be announced at a later date.
Her final resting place will be Brookville Cemetery in Brookville PA.
