Carmen G. Dragone, 70, of Ridgway-Johnsonburg Road, Ridgway, PA, passed away at the Cleveland Clinic on Thursday, April 16, 2026, following a brief illness.
He was born on May 8, 1955, in Ridgway, PA, a son of the late Santo and Joanne Peters Dragone.
Carmen was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, class of 1973 and a member of Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg. He retired from Domtar after more than 40 years of service. He was a founding member of the Elk County "High School" Trap League, and the Fox Township Sportsmen's Club. He was also a longtime member of the Ridgway Moose. Carmen was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple blessings of life, time spent in the great outdoors, mornings in the woods hunting, peaceful days on the water fishing, and making memories with those he loved most. Above all, he treasured every moment with his grandchildren, whose laughter and presence brought him endless pride and happiness. His love for family, nature, and the life he built will be remembered always.
He is survived by two children; Danielle Brice and her husband Dr. Joshua Brice of Kittanning, PA, Santo Dragone and his wife Kaycee of Troy, Missouri; and by his seven beloved grandchildren; Taylor, Colton, Callen, Luca, Lainey, Vivian and Stetson. He is also survived five siblings; Sandy (Frank) Quattrone of Ridgway, Melinda Posteraro of St. Marys, Joseph (Wanda) Dragone of St. Marys, Maria Viglione of Kentucky, and David (Sheri Horner) Dragone of Johnsonburg, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Carmen was preceded in death by a sister Linda Dragone, in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Carmen G. Dragone will be celebrated on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Church, 606 Penn Street, Johnsonburg, PA 15845 with Fr. David Wilson as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg, PA.
Visitation will be at the Krise Funeral Home in Ridgway on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Children's Heart Foundation or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
