Ben A. Samick

Ben A. Samick, 32, of St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 15, 2025.

He was born on May 12, 1993 in St. Marys, PA, a son of Kurt and Diane Buerk Samick, who survive.

Ben was a lifelong resident of the area and proud member of the community, having graduated from St. Marys Area High School, class of 2011. He enjoyed attending Shiloh Presbyterian Church, and his faith was very important to him. He felt unified in Christ, and strived to be the best version of himself for his kids, always wanting them to have a sense of community and kindness to all. Additionally, he always showed respect for all branches of the military, fire, and police departments. With a big heart, infectious smile, and a willingness to always help others, Ben exemplified the true spirit of family-first and community-mindedness. A renowned chef, Ben loved creating delicious meals as the proud owner of Just Ben's Catering and Premier Vending. Having been trained by his beloved uncle Ricky, Ben crafted meals, catered many events, and was a friendly face known to all. A true outdoorsman, Ben loved fishing, hunting, and trapping. With an unwavering love of God and country, Ben instilled values in his children that will live on in their hearts. He was a loving father who adored his children and cherished spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Ben is survived by his longtime companion; Maureen Newell of St. Marys, and by his two beloved children; Grace and Leo Samick. He is also survived by two siblings; Travis (Chelsea) Samick and Rachel Samick, both of St. Marys, and by numerous nieces and nephews, including Cameron, Sydney, Trevor, and Ellie. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, employees, and friends whom Ben loved dearly. He is also survived by his longtime friend; Guido Allegretto, and his godmother; Brenda Keech.

Ben was preceded in death by his nephew; Damien, his cousin; Gibby Buerk, his maternal grandparents; Gilbert and Henrietta "Mutchie" Buerk, and by his paternal grandparents; Kenneth and Louise Samick.

A Celebration of Life for Ben A. Samick will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Maker's Warehouse, 315 Brusselles Street, St. Marys, PA 15857.

Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
